This book was a mix of characters. Our main characters, Damien and Jen, were there, but a lot of other characters were crowding the stage. I suppose it did show more of the interaction of dramatic personae, but I would have preferred that it would have concentrated more towards our heroes.Good book and wondering how the third will end.

Doesn't make things overly complex, like the way characters are handled. Best fantasy series I have read in a while.
His writing leaves me waiting for his next book. I love his style and his ability to spin a story. If he writes it I'll read it.
This series has exactly what I crave; diversity of characters, exceptionally strong main character, and romance. I would definitely enjoy more romance, but the other elements are to my liking.
Love the stories in this series, this is a new author for me and will continue read his books, love the characters and writing, not boring.
I read this book in about five hours. I really enjoyed it. I mean who wouldn't like a character who isn't afraid to drop a mountain on a bad guy to stop them. If that was not enough an old character rears its ugly head.
The comment that I can't wait till October is because the third book is scheduled to be released on October 5. I have already pre ordered it.
Nothing surprising about this novel, felt it slowed down immensely compared to the first. Magic system is very basic with characters that are sincerely lacking development. The action is somewhat ok but to be honest be hard pressed to continue this story arc,.
I think the author has talent, however needs to spend more time in character, magic system, and world development. Everything felt rushed and lack of real challenges for the main character makes for a one dimensional story
Enjoyed the sequel more than the original which I find rare these days. Liked how even as powerful as the guy is he still finds himself on situations that challenges him. Also, looking forward to seeing how the developing relationships pan out as he is on the edge of something great or something equally terrible.
